Our Web Design Process

The appropriate level of client involvement in the website design process is very important to us here at Advantage on the Internet. The way we work with our clients allows them to be involved as little or as much as they choose, depending on their level of knowledge and expertise.

Initial Briefing
The first meeting between Advantage on the Internet and the client is arranged for an initial discussion and to discuss the desired website design, functionality, budget and timing requirements. This is best done in person though via email and telephone can be just as effective if required.

Pricing and Proposal
The proposal is compiled by Advantage on the Internet, after considering the full client brief. This can detail web and graphic design ideas, amount of pages, self updateable sections, the final price, and the production processes required to achieve the end result. We liaise with our website designers to document the key phases of the project, timing and invoice plans through to completion. The proposal can vary from a very straight forward A to B of the process for more economic web sites, through to a very detailed plan for more complex projects involving deep programming or database work.

Approval & Commencement
Once the client is satisfied with the Advantage on the Internet proposal, a deposit is paid to enable us to commence with the website design project.

Screenshots and Designs
Our graphic and website designers start work, visuals, screenshots, logos etc are designed, and are presented to the client, once a preferred design idea has been chosen, the concept is developed further, ready for coding / programming.

Website Build
Website designers now code the individual pages, functionality is programmed, and any available site content is added - The website design is completed.

Evaluation and Testing
The completed website is thoroughly tested for bugs and errors, ensuring any restricted areas are properly secure, all the navigation is as per the proposal etc.

Final Delivery
The completed website is now uploaded to the final web hosting space and connected to your domain name where it will appear live on the Internet. Any related email addresses are set-up in the required way and final payment is due.

Ongoing Website Maintenance
If you have chosen a CMS (content management solution), a password protected area so you can have the flexibility to modify the website text and images easily and rapidly yourself without any programming skills whatsoever, or if you prefer one of our own professional webmasters to make the changes, we will be happy to put a maintenance package in place or charge you on an hourly basis as and when you need modifications. Whatever method of maintenance you choose, Advantage on the Internet is dedicated to making sure your website is a success for the long term, and will always be a phone call away.
